Luna is the heart and soul behind LunaDogAI.
When we rescued her in 2010, she was just a six-month-old puppy who had already endured more hardship than most dogs ever should. She and her littermates had been dumped, likely by a backyard breeder, and were all fighting for their lives with parvo. They survived, but the weeks of quarantine during their crucial early months meant Luna grew up without the socialization most puppies get.
The result was a dog who was deeply fearful of the world around her. Luna struggled with severe leash reactivity, fear aggression, and a lack of confidence. Everyday life was a challenge, for her and for us. But through her struggles, she became our greatest teacher.
Luna inspired us to dive headfirst into the world of dog behavior and training. Her journey from fear and reactivity to trust and connection showed us what was possible with patience, compassion, and the right approach. She gave us not only the gift of becoming dog trainers, but also the vision to create LunaDogAI — a tool to help other dog parents find the same transformation and bond we were lucky enough to share with her.
Luna crossed the rainbow bridge on December 29, 2022, but her legacy lives on. Every dog trained, every family who finds peace and joy again with their dog, carries a piece of Luna’s story forward.
She will always be our inspiration, our teacher, and the reason behind LunaDogAI.

Ashley, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, has spent nearly a decade training dogs across the U.S. She began her career working with psychiatric and medical alert & response service dogs, and later graduated from the Tarheel Canine School for Dog Trainers, earning her Master Dog Trainer Certification with concentrations in obedience/behavior modification, detection, tracking, and patrol.
At Tarheel, Ashley had the privilege of learning from some of the top trainers in the industry, gaining hands-on experience with military and police working dogs, personal protection dogs, and challenging behavior modification cases. Today, she continues to work closely with local police departments and military working dogs at JBLM. She also holds a Pet Nutrition Coach certification from the North American Veterinary Community.
Ashley’s greatest passion lies in teaching owners how to effectively communicate with their dogs, helping them overcome behavioral challenges, and watching both dog and owner thrive. She has worked with everything from puppy potty training and excessive fearfulness to leash reactivity, human aggression, and dog aggression.
In her personal life, Ashley competes in Protection Sports Association (PSA) and American Schutzhund with her Belgian Malinois, Ronan, who holds his PSA 1 and AS-BT titles and is currently training toward his PSA 2. Ronan is also trained in narcotics detection and human odor tracking. Outside of the dog world, Ashley is a competitive bodybuilder in the NPC Figure division.
